Your free BOLT score

Two minutes. One breath hold. A simple measure of how you breathe at rest.

What it is

The Body Oxygen Level Test

From the Oxygen Advantage® method: how long you can comfortably hold after a normal breath out, until your body first asks to breathe. Higher usually means lighter, calmer breathing.

  1. Sit & settleSit upright and relax for a minute.
  2. Breathe normallyQuiet breaths in and out through your nose.
  3. Normal breath outAfter a normal exhale, pinch your nose.
  4. Start the timerHit Start as you pinch.
  5. Stop at the first urgeStop at the first definite urge to breathe, not your max.
  6. Breathe calmlyLet go and resume calm nasal breathing.

Don't hold to your limit. Your first breath after should be calm. Skip this test if you're pregnant, or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy or any other medical condition, unless your doctor has OK'd it. This is not a medical test or diagnosis.
